Introduction
Kartel Perfumes sells fragrance to customers in Ghana. This policy explains what we collect when you visit or order, what we do with it, and how to have it removed. It is written to be read rather than to be survived.
What we collect
Only what an order or an account actually needs:
- Account: your name, email address and, if you give it, a phone number.
- Orders: the delivery address, what you bought, and the order history attached to your account.
- Correspondence: anything you send us by email or WhatsApp.
- Saved fragrances: the items you heart. If you are signed out these stay in your own browser and are never sent to us.
Payments
Online payments are processed by Paystack. Card and bank details go to them directly; they never reach our servers, and we could not store them if we wanted to. Paystack handles that data under PCI DSS.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser’s own storage, not third-party cookies, for the handful of things the shop cannot work without:
- Your bag. The items you added, so they survive a refresh and a return visit.
- Display currency. The currency you picked, so prices stay in it. Rates are re-fetched each visit rather than cached, so a stale rate cannot be quoted back to you.
- Recently viewed. The last few fragrances you opened, so you can find your way back. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
- Saved fragrances. If you are signed out, the items you heart live here too, on this device only.
- Guest order access. If you check out without an account, a private key on this device lets you reopen your order. It expires after 90 days and is discarded when you clear your browser data.
- Sign-in. A cookie that keeps you signed in, set only once you sign in.
You can clear all of it from your browser settings at any time. Doing so empties your bag and signs you out, and nothing else about your account changes.
We do not run advertising pixels or third-party tracking scripts on this site.
If you subscribe, we send occasional notes about releases and what the house is working on. Every one carries a working unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is immediate. Order confirmations, receipts and refund notices are transactional and are sent whether or not you subscribe.
Who else sees your data
Only the processors needed to run the shop:
- Paystack — payment processing.
- Mailjet — order and newsletter email delivery.
- Cloudinary — product imagery hosting.
- Meta (WhatsApp) — only if you choose to message us there.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove what we are not obliged to retain.
Your rights
Under Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@kartelperfume.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will say so on this page and update the date above.
